When you have trusting relationships between your team members and their leaders, you have the foundation for building a successful organization with higher levels of collaboration, increased creativity and risk-taking, more effective execution of business strategy, and increased commitment and loyalty to the company. Join this dynamic keynote session from Stephen M.R. Covey to gain insights on how leaders/organizations can build trust and inspire results.

Why is this Master Class so important and beneficial for you?

We live in an ideas economy; a powerful idea disrupts a decades old industry or a company. These ideas need companies, strategies, leaders and cultures to be at the speed of the customer. These ideas don’t necessarily come from a single industry either. The ideas economy is based on disruption from non-industry players and from seemingly dissimilar expertise areas as well as nearby competitors. A people strategy in this new world has to be driven by multi-industry influences and learning from all dissimilar areas to your company. This makes every company a technology, data and a platform business.

Creating impactful learning in organisations - and it's not what you think!

Masterclass Description:

Organizations across the world spend millions of dollars on learning and development each year as a means to change behaviours and generate smoother, more efficient and more effective organisations. The reality is that although these programs may, at best be stimulating and enjoyable, they rarely impact the behaviour of participants over the longer term.

Based on 60 years combined experience of working in over 40 countries with senior leaders, Keith Jones and Tessa Sharp will share the unexpected conclusions of their research and practice detailed in their 2020 award winning book PROVOKE; The Art of Transformative Facilitation – creating dynamic learning in the corporate world. Their findings provide a exciting alternative to the traditional ways in which learning is understood and implemented in a modern corporate environment.

In this Masterclass you will have the opportunity to examine these findings in the light of your own professional practice and provide the context for a unique exploration into alternative ways of approaching the true nature of corporate learning.

This study analyzed several studies (no = 38) that met the inclusion criteria defined in the methodology, with the aim of identifying the skills most in demand in the labor market. The study focused on studies published from 2016 until the end of 2020; because this timing is related to the emergence of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, its impact on the future of the labor market, its connection to technology, and the change that took place on many jobs and skills. According to the research questions and the systematic review of the literature, the results showed a special repeated interest in technical skills at second place and personal human skills in the first place, the results also showed a presence of more skills than others. Skills of problem solving, communication, flexibility and adaptation, creative thinking, and technical skills in general were most in demand. The research concluded that due to the lack of local empirical research that relied on primary data collection, there is an urgent need for local research focuses on the Saudi context.

There was an intense debate in the press and boardrooms about bureaucratic and worthless performance practices in recent years. Many organizations changed their processes, used new tech tools, and modified rating systems. Have these changes resulted in better outcomes? The 2019 Gartner Performance Management Benchmarking Survey showed that 82% of HR leaders felt that their performance management was ineffective at achieving its primary goal of supporting business to achieve its goals.
